ARCHITECTURAL AND URBAN PLANNING REDEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC SPACES IN
LESIGNANO DE' BAGNI AND SANTA MARIA DEL PIANO

The project presented pursues the objectives set out in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), of intelligent, sustainable and inclusive growth, which ensures the harmonious development of the territory especially from a social and infrastructural point of view according to the six environmental objectives of which the principle Do No Significant Harm (DNSH). Composing in this place means dealing with the nature and qualities of the landscape of the foothills of the Province of Parma, where the shapes of the reliefs follow one another in hilly patterns with wavy and light modeling and with alternations of wooded areas, cultivated areas and riparian vegetation along the courses of the canals and ditches. The project takes up this landscape conformation and proposes a transposition of it in the areas defined by the tender, relating to the place through a decisive intervention of renaturalization of the whole. Through the safety of public spaces, through the redesign of the system of pedestrian, vehicular and parking paths and through the insertion and valorisation of green and vegetal elements, the project develops new spaces of inclusiveness and social cohesion, new spaces of relationship and aggregation pursuing the objectives given by the tender and respecting the provisions of the DNSH principles. The project idea therefore defines, through a difference in scale, an image of the historical and cultural landscape of the "High Plain" of Parma. By setting this re-creation of the landscape in a frame given by the existing buildings and roads, it is possible to define areas that they contain the memory and peculiarities of the landscape and existing places. The idea of intervening through a remodeling of the land with terraces, slightly steep slopes, sloping meadows and level lines which then become generators of retaining walls is typical of the figuration of the surrounding landscape in order to recreate a portion of the landscape of the "High Plain" of Parma. This new place will involve the imagination of the people who look at it, bringing back memories of known places and suggestions that are part of the collective imagination of these places.

The project takes up this landscape conformation and proposes a transposition of it in the areas defined by the tender, relating to the place through a decisive intervention of renaturalization of the whole. AREA LESIGNANO CAPOLUOGO - PIAZZA IV NOVEMBRE
Piazza IV Novembre has been redesigned through rationalization of parking spaces and the bus stop. The graft is ensured to the neighboring houses, the green area surrounding the car park is expanded without having to cut down the existing trees or move the existing monument and connecting the area with sidewalks towards Via Mons. Triani, and Via Roma. The area is therefore simply rationalized in the parking layout in order to create n. 18 parking spaces and a bus stop that does not create an obstacle to the provision of parking. Also for this area a draining type paving such as "Biostrasse" is planned which allows an easy flow of water. The existing plantings are maintained and integrated with a hedge which allows a visual separation between the private access area to the existing homes and parking.
AREA SANTA MARIA DEL PIANO via Argini nord e P.zza S. D’Aquisto
In the Santa Maria del Piano area, the redevelopment of the area takes place through a new relationship with the existing church and elements that highlight the proximity to the center of Lesignano. A large green area was designed which surrounds the car park and limits the view in order to give a continuous view of the existing tree-lined and lawned areas both in the current car park and in the area adjacent to the church. Access to the church has been made wider in order to create a visual axis towards the churchyard. The green area surrounding the car park has slight slopes that mask the parking spaces and in the entrance part it results in a wall that supports an indication that highlights the access to the municipality of Lesignano dei Bagni.
