REUSE OF INDUSTRIAL AREAS

In Veneto there are 32,000 abandoned warehouses on an area of over 14,200 hectares. A heritage huge waiting for answers and new ones conversion strategies. The project, already in part realized, provides for the reuse of a large industrial area through restructuring e the change of intended use. They have been demolished the external surfaces in concrete and asphalt and inserted new natural environments. Tree-lined spaces, meadows, connecting pedestrian paths.
Through the inclusion of small volumes we have mediated the relationship between the tall buildings industrial buildings and the external space by creating areas articulated, small courtyards, maneuvering areas, spaces greens. These settlements lend themselves to modification but a new regulatory plan is needed to bring the natural space back into the built space.
